TRY: Seeing the world through a Wes Anderson lens.

Ever wanted to pretend you were the 11th member of the Tenenbaums family? Well now you can (sort of). The revolutionary eyeware designers at Tens have released a new range of shades that capture the distinct colour palette of a Wes Anderson film. Coined ‘Spectachrome’, the glasses feature a filtered lens, transporting wearers to the world of vintage cinema with warm citron tones and emerald green hues. Otherwise dull scenes become something from a 70’s postcard. Your boring drive to work will become a freewheeling road trip shot in celluloid film. A winter morning will look like summer sunset. It’s pure genius.

Tens’ glasses are developed by a group of photographers who thought up the idea for a warm lens filter while driving through the Scottish Highlands – famously a place void of sunlight. In 2014, they crowdfunded their very first design, which they released in a choice of 6 timeless shapes. All frames are biodegradable and made from plant-based Italian acetate. The Spectachrome range came 5 years later, launched alongside a Wes Anderson-style short film produced by the founders (check it out here).

These glasses not only make you look good, they make you feel good too – it’s actually scientifically proven that warm, orange tones put you in a better mood. Tens have even worked with colour psychologists to develop just the right filter.
